After X'mas vacation

今天下午三點左右 (加州時間約晚上十一點) 看到約翰開始在讀信了, 而且也回了兩封, 不過因為還在放假中, 所以最快也要明天 (美國時間星期五) 才能有回應, 不過換我們要休假了. :-)

Product is going to ship out

During passed few days our manufacture was work very hard to produce the units for ship out to customer. So I got a lot of mail on Tuesday. Somehow I didn't get many mail yesterday. Is everything going fine? I really don't think it will. There are still lots of quality issues from vendors and some material shortage issues as well. :-(

Come to Suzhou again

Today I am at Suzhou again. I planed to stay here until Saturday but I heard the schedule has changed already that I won't be able to go back on 12/16. :-(

The bus driver is so bad today. He smoked in bus during driving and denied to make U-turn to stop at hotel. Even we complain about it but there is no good will to us. >:-(

IR LED customer's feedback

In fact, my customer did not give me feedback. You may call it's feedback but they are some questions actually. I don't know that John is on the track or not. Those questions should be very clear without doubt.

IR receiving LED issue

Sam just finished his redesigned holder and I also just finished to send message to customer for confirmation. Anyway, it's very hard to implement this solution into PR1 stage. In the meantime, MFG guys still talk something nonsense to me. :-(

Sleepless last night

I took two cups of tea last night, that makes me can not sleep well whole night. So I woke up around 6:15 and practice Tai-Chi-Chuen.

Effect of biz-trip postpone

上次沒找著藍色書屋, 好不容易在網路上發現它的位置了, 原訂 PR1 要抽空再去逛逛, 可是這回我沒空出門, 逛書店可能要再安排了. :-P

Biz-trip postpone

My biz-trip was plan to go to Suzhou for PR1 build on Dec. 07. Teddy told me this morning that he will go for me on PR1 period, and I go for PR2. He is going to prepare his wedding in coming days. So, he thought he will not be able take any biz-trip on December.

IR learning feature

那天史丹利說必要時可以把 IR learning 的功能拿掉, 而之前也是這麼告訴 Sam 來請他重新設計一個座子. 昨天睡前我想到萬一客戶有不同意取消時該怎麼辦? 早上要 Sam 先想想保留 learning LED 的位置, 不過他說沒空間放進去. 結果中午在凱爾那兒就聽他提起要保留的事, 所以 Sam 又要再設計一次 LED 座, 以期能將兩顆 LED 都放進去. :-(

Schedule issue again

Although we already finished PP build but there a lot of issue need to solve. Vendor is complain about they don't have enough time to modify tooling and have production. Also, we don't have time to create new idea for change and modify our design. The coming PR build will be a nightmare again. :-(

在觀前街新華書店 (這家總不會賣些有的沒的, 也不會遷走吧), 終於有機會逛一下. 今天因為身體不舒服, 所以不打算花太多時間, 因此僅買了三本西洋文學作品, 共花費 33.5 元, 書目如下:

Buying books, 2nd place

在文化市場沒有斬獲, 轉進至籃色書屋試試. 不料在人民路原來的位址附近來回走了兩趟, 硬是看到不書店的蹤影, 倒在疑是原址處看到一大片工地, 想是有改建工程而遷往他處. :-(

回來上網查了一番, 發現它在九月底開始準備搬遷事宜, 還一律打七折呢! 可惜我沒機會遇上. 從網上的消息看來應該約在十一月重新開張, 新址在民治路上, 等下次還有機會到蘇州時再說囉.

Buying books, 1st place

由於昨天知道在道前街和司前街口有一個文化市場, 所以下午就去那?逛逛, 看看是否能有收獲. 結果很令人失望, 因為那兒只賣一般中小學的書籍, 我實在很難在?面翻出寶來, 最後僅在文具部門花 RMB30 買了一支鋼筆.

Bought a sweater

中午收到奧圖的電話, 告訴我不用進公司, 事情已告一段落了, 等明天去開會就可以. 所以我下午利用機會去買毛衣保暖, 雖然已經感冒好幾天, 但再不注意可能會更糟吧.

在人民路的華泰廣場逛了好一會兒, 終於看上一件認為還可以的純羊毛的毛線衣, 對折後要價 RMB490, 我身上現金不夠, 先問明可以刷卡後請他開單. 到了收銀處他們非本地的卡要一樓才能收, 而到一樓收銀處後, 他要看證件才能給我刷, 而不巧今天沒帶證件出門, 結果只能再將單子退回給店員悵然離開.

後來到觀前街找了一家本地的成衣店, 買了一件僅含百分之三十羊毛成份的毛衣, 花費 RMB159, 果真是一分錢一分貨, 付了錢當場就將毛衣穿上. 雖然與我原來想買的有相當大的差距, 但至少穿在身上是暖和些了.

Jackie back to office

Today we have Jackie join back to our team after six month off. His computer was return to MIS and need to apply a new one. Also he got some other material need to renew too. Anyway, he is back. :-)

Complain a lot

Still hear a lot of complain from every where about ME issues. It's ready a hard time to take care those issues. :-(

Con-call for PVT review

今天的電話會議在一開始就不太妙, 因為約翰明顯地被很多人狠狠刮了一頓, 可以體會他的心情不可能好的起來. 在連線打招呼時就提到他的狀況, 接著因為他今天才給出貼紙和印刷的圖面, 我們表示會來不及導入下次上線生產, 他對我們很不客氣質問: 為何當初我們告訴他今天給出圖面即可, 而今天卻告訴他來不及導入. 不論如何, 我們還是去要求廠商配合在接著的組立要將這些新的圖面導入生產, 但這還是小事, 因為一些間隙段差的問題才真是大事, 許多問題我們還沒找出真正的原因, 所以目前的一些解法可能都無法得到希望的結果.

Change information from customer

We already asked that the confirmation should be provided by last Saturday, otherwise we won't be able to reach PP schedule in order to our material preparation time frame. Our customer still ignore our request and reply us by our second confirmation mail by this Monday. >:-(

Big bend from customer

We got message from customer that they are going to remove finger print sensor but the final decision is not make yet. They will have a meeting to discuss this topic tomorrow. We might be informed the final conclusion before tomorrow noon. This device is not very useful for a home base computer. May customer they also recognized this point but some of them still would keep this feature. If the device will be removed then it will be a best news from these couple busy days. :-)

PVT had built finally

Our PVT build got start on 19th finally but not well. The systems had 85% need to repair by ME team, then those repaired system had 95% need to fix by EE team! We just got one fully set went to final test. Anyway, the 2nd day was get much better than last day and finish PVT build. There are a lot of issue need to be fixed and some are adapt from DVT or even Pre-DVT. :-(

Met Richard

When I had my breakfast this morning. Richard was appear in front of my table. It's so supprised to me and Richard too. I called Sandy to come to have breakfast with us. How nice to meet friend at other country. :-)

Project status update - 20061019

The product is planed to have PVT build on Oct. 16 (Mon.) but until now we are not started yet. PM is hope we can start PVT build by today if CPU can arrive today. :-(

Project status update

We should get start our PVT build today but there are still lots of material on the way to factory. Even the CPU, one of customer consigned part, is not received yet. I am worry about the schedule because I don't want to stay at China for a long time. I'm afraid my health will get worse. :-(

Health status

從上次九月底回臺灣就先去抽血, 十一日提前一週去複診, 結果如我預想的一般很不樂觀. 醫師要我馬上又抽了一次血做檢驗, 而狀況是依次在惡化中, 從七月時所做的檢驗已稍高於標準, 而在八月中公司所做的體檢已超標許多, 而在後兩次更明白顯現舊疾又復發了. 這次依然到大陸出差, 自己感到有玩命的意味, 內心真的有些害怕. 在出門前和老闆談了一次, 告訴他我打算離開的想法, 他希望以調動職務內容的方式來避免我離開, 不過如果我的健康情形無法得到改善, 則離開以便休息一陣子是比較好的做法. :-(

Feel tired all the day

今天一整天都覺得很疲倦, 雖然我昨天在旅館睡了近十二個鐘頭, 但還是常打呵欠. 我很擔心身體的毛病又出來了. :-(

Goods from Shanghai has received

The part from Shanghai to Dongguan for assembly is arrived today afternoon, but vendor here is not able to setup an assembly line for it today. That means we won't see the assembly process here before we leave.

準備回家

今天是這趟出差的最後一天在廠商處, 明天要回家休息一陣子, 身子已經快掛了. 不過聽到台北方面說預計下次出門的時間是十月十二日, 看來回去沒多久就得再出門了.

Customer is leaved

Today is the third day of our review meeting and it's also the last day for customer here. He will take flight on ten o'clock in the night to go back. He left a lot of issues which we need to study and implement into the coming build. Even the PVT is coming soon but there are still more and more issues need to be solved as design stage. :-(

Shenzhen go around

I went to Shenzhen alone today because my colleague did not want to go. Anyway, I don't need partner to take a trip. I took taxi from hotel to Dongguan rail station, which costed RMB 30. For train from Dongguan to Shenzhen is RMB 35 without seat, but the price is the same to get a seat. The trip for Shenzhen by train took about 35 minnutes. My first job was to buy ticket for back to Dongguan. It's lucky that I got a seat for return. I took public bus from Changping to Dongken just RMB 5.

Include RMB 2 for subway, RMB 23 for lunch and 10 for dinner. I just spend RMB 140 for Shenzhen. :-)

Rich and poor

九月三日我在吳宮喜來登--這座仿古城門的高級飯店--門前.

我正看著它巍峨的建築, 心想著我出差是不可能住到這?來, 也在同時發現不遠處有個小女孩朝我前進的彼方走近, 當我注意到他時, 他剛好停了下來. 停下來的原因不是同我一般在欣賞壯麗的屋宇, 而是他身上所背負的東西快掉了, 所以停步將它們調整好.

他身上負著一大疊的保麗龍, 保麗龍由塑膠繩束著, 而繩的另一端繫在一個全鏽了的大鐵桶, 鐵桶內也裝著一些拾回的小物件, 小女孩利用兩者的重力平衡將繩掛在肩上. 而另一手也沒閒著, 提了一大袋東西, 看來是些拾回的紙器.

我經過他身邊並朝我的方向繼續前行, 回頭看他還在整理著物件並重新置回身上, 停了一停算是休息就延著馬路走了. 不知從另一頭走了多遠, 更不知他往那一頭還有多遠要走?

看了一會他的背影, 轉頭看著吳宮喜來登--這座仿古城門的高級飯店, 九月三日我在它的門前.

Dragonair flight attendant

今天在產線上測試的影片是李心潔主演的電影, 才想起那天 (8/21) 到蘇州的路上, 在香港飛上海的港龍航空班機上, 其中一位空服員與李心潔長相近似, 特別是他們都有一對靈活可人的大眼睛. 這是當天抱著鬱悶的心情唯一感到好過些的經歷. :-)

DVT stage

We will have DVT build tomorrow finally. There are still some of TS not received yet and some of they need replace new chassis for panel. The original plan is finish DVT build around this Thursday and we can have close meeting before the end of week. Anyway, delay is still better than nothing. :-P

T1 at EN, Dongken, Dongguan, Guangdong, China

T1 的東西一直沒按時間出來, 鐵件的部分還勉強能照時間表做到, 即使延誤也較有限. 但塑膠的延誤問題就相當嚴重, 不僅無法依原時程來試模與看樣, 連延誤後的試模間時也一再延遲, 很擔心在八月三日約翰來的時候沒法看到所有的東西. :-(

Tooling try shot

在風雨飄搖與產品規格不定的情況下, "交叉火網" 這個案子竟然也即將要試模了. 所以在下星期一又要到廣東出差了, 而出差時間則會長達近一個月, 如果不是因為要回來體檢, 可能得待到九月底才能告一段落.

SFO again!

I just hardly believe that I'm SFO again. Any way, I just need to suffer 12 hours more then I can go back home. :-)

It's really tire

After run this project I feel very tired. Seems there is no ending for this project and still a lots of things need to do. Oh my god!.... :-(

約翰回公司上班了

今天在電話會議上約翰已回公司上班了, 並且在會議上出現. 他還是向以前一樣會要求一些東西, 而且一樣搞不清楚狀況, 都要開模了還要求改一堆東西, 真不知道他有沒有跑過實際的案子. :-(

聽說約翰要回去上班了

上星期和艾許文做開模前的檢討, 聽他說約翰應在十二日(也就是這週一)會回公司上班, 但同時 PM 史丹利也這麼說不過態度看來比較保留, 而 Otto 也從布魯斯口中聽說他會在十二號回去, 不過他提到不一定會回到這個案子.

總會所有的資訊看來, 約翰應該會在十二日回公司上班, 但是否真可如艾許文的願望把案子丟回給約翰就是個問題了.

約翰生病了

星期五請假也同時發現約翰沒進公司, 後來看到布魯斯的郵件才知道他生病了, 但他在星期五 (美國加州時間) 還是沒進公司去. 今天中午與艾許文在電話中提起此事才知道他還在病假中, 而且可以會持續二三個禮拜. 不知是什麼狀況會突然就請長假, 以約翰的為人應該是相當盡責, 不至於在這種緊要關頭開小差才對, 換做是我的可能性還高的多.

不管如何, 從今天開始又是阿三哥艾許文先生來處理這個案子了, 而另一個遊戲用個人電腦不知他是否也同時繼續在處理? 而他打一開始就沒管底座的事, 現在要接手可能也不是那麼容易. :-(

One day off on Friday

昨天請了一天假, 因為兒子參加的舞蹈班有成果發表會, 雖然發表會的時間不長, 但我當然藉機請一天的假. 無巧不巧客戶也因身體不適在當天請了一天病假, 難怪我一直看到他的任何回覆, 算來我是請對時間了, 就算他有什麼不也等星期一了. :-P

Hinge vendors

We found that second hinge vendor is worse than first one during the meeting with second one. Today we found it's worse than what we thought. Where to find a good vendor to support XFR project? :-(

The Lord of the Rings

I found the books of "The Lord of the Rings" yesterday. I just realized that those books I still not finished yet and only read to in the middle of second part. :-P

Drawing release delay

出圖延遲不是我們, 目前是蜥蜴設計公司延遲, 而客戶為他們找到很好的理由, 因為我們一直無法提出一個確實的數據供他們修改設計. 事實上我們提出來了, 但客戶認為我們提出的尺寸做不到而拒絕接受, 這樣的情況也算到我們頭上了. 而因為他們已經延遲了兩天無法給出圖面, 我們的時間也就這樣被吃掉兩天了, 到時候沒辦法準時出圖來檢討也一樣會又算在我們身上. 哎....! :-(

第二次舊金山出差

這次去舊金山出差我連著幾天下來都沒怎麼睡, 平均一天睡二至三小時, 只為了開 22 小時的會, 我們飛了 24 的鐘頭, 想想還真是不划算. 最重要的是時間不太夠, 所以有些問題並沒有談完. :-(

Been SFO again

I thought that I won't be here at last visit but I am here again. The project still going unwell and a lot of problem still there as well. I can not sleep due to jet-leg so I typing keyboard in front of notebook computer here, Sunnyvale, CA, USA.

XFR, an unsolved problem

After we tried to add bracket or make die-casting mockup. We found that the vibration problem is still there. The difference between sheet metal and die-casting is their are not on the same level. The only strong structure of base is add bracket to link vertical with base and keyboard garage with linkage. This solution is impact ID and customer can not accept. Currently, we are going to change design to die-casting strucure but we still can not make a chassis without vibrating.

In fact, even we can have a strong chassis like dummy base. The weakness will become arm link with display. This portion is more diffcult to solve. :-(

XFR bad news

It is a really bad news that we had mock-up today and assembled. The panel is extremely awful vibrated. Even just a very lite touch on the screen too. We thought customer will be crazy when they get this proto sample. I'm worry about how to solve this problem. :-(

工作動力

這兩天都沒什麼工作的興趣, 所以做起事來也很沒勁. 想到星期五的電話會議客戶有一大堆的抱怨就讓人覺得煩, 而除此之外尚有許多問題待解決, 真的希望客戶主動停止那奇怪的案子別再鬧了.

Jackie thought he will leave current job before April. I hope he can stay until middle of April but fail. Currently, I just can ask James to let Dennis support us more and take Jackie's parts in the future.

XFR project situation

Our price for customer in this project seems not good enough. I just heard PM talked about that we might not be able to have profit from this project. :-(

This is a special case of PC and used a lot of new technology. I don't understand why they cut a little bit of buddge on important fundamental and allow some weird functions and ideas to swallow much more money. >:-(

XFR display arm design

We got first proto sample of display arm today. There are a lot of mistakes we found on the sample. After double check the drawing we realized that some errors are caused by original design. Our customer said those design had been done about 99%. So we just catch rest 1% error. :-D

XFR design review for NC1

Last with customer came to Taiwan for project review. Tuesday and Wednesday were meet some vendors and no much time on mechanical parts. Last two days, Thursday and Friday, focused on mechanical parts design review. I spent two whole days with customer for reveiw meeting. The good news is our some desing and idea can be accepted for NC1; the bad news is there are some issue will implement into NC2 and there should be a lot of modification work.

今天聽說 101 打算對於 101 大樓照片的商對使用收取費用. 不知 101 大樓是那個天才想出來的點子, 該不會是 101 的營運有問題, 非得要用這麼下流的手段來籌錢? 君子務本, 本立而道生. 君子固窮, 小人窮斯濫矣.

XFR status update

今天約翰先生不知怎麼那麼搞不清楚狀況, 居然說我們將光碟機控制按鍵大小和位置的改變做為時程延誤的藉口, 他不知道他們的確認工作有多重要, 但也應該知道舊版控制鍵的大小和位置根本不可能套用在新版的圖面上. >:-|

Struggle for XFR

在多日的努力下, 案子仍在緩慢進行中, 大家還在交叉火網中奮鬥. :-(

明天要檢討顯示器的部分, 下週則是客戶要來檢討本體的部分, 而下週三以前圖要能完成才可以檢討, 真的會擔心圖無法即時畫完. :-(

XFR need more power to cover

交叉火網在客戶的強大火力下, 每一位工程師或參與者無不意興闌珊, 但是在客位還不清楚這是個無意義的案子時, 大家也只能勉強配合他們繼續玩下去, 只能期待他們早日看清事實, 以免花太多冤枉錢. 今天 Sandy 說 Gary, EE team, 告訴他只有像他這樣新加入這個案子的人, 才有多一點的衝勁去做一些事, 像多數在這個案子已經一段日子的人, 通常都不太願意再投入太多精神了, 因為意義不大又沒有回報. :-(

XFR still on going

After came back from the U. S. I hope this project be cancled so many times but it still alive! >:-( Feb. 17 will release first NC drwaing for mock-up..... :-(
